Abstain from sexual intercourse/masturbation for three to five days. Note that shorter abstinence periods may result in low sperm counts, while longer abstinence periods may result in low motility.
Wash hands and genitals thoroughly before sample production.
Produce sample into a sterile specimen pot labelled with name, date of birth, date and time of ejaculation. Alternatively, produce sample into a non-toxic condom supplied by the clinic and place into a biohazard bag labelled with name, date of birth, date and time of ejaculation (contraceptive condoms are unsuitable due to spermicidal activity).
Samples produced at home must be kept warm and delivered to the clinic within 1 hour of production. Samples produced off site will cool with time which will reduce sperm motility.
Following this assessment, a consultation with our leading fertility specialists will be organised to review your medical and fertility history. Medical and/or lifestyle advice will be discussed if necessary.
